To Whom it Will Concern
I know there will be many people who have know me in the past who will be very hurt and disappointed in my actions words and attitudes. Some will even be disgusted as they hear of my failings! As I look back I share their disgust! I know my God did as well.
To all in my past I offer my request for forgiveness.I have asked and received this forgiveness from God and this has helped me start making the required changes in my life.
One changing episode I can remember is when I was in a Church Service in a local Primary School. On the front wall was the word “Theme”.As I looked at the word at that word I divided into two parts. The Me. This made me think of why I was failing so often. I was thinking of “Me” instead of others.
Then I decided to divide the word again.T He MeThen I placed the t between the others. He t Me
I realized it was because of what He, Jesus, had done for Me on the Cross enables me to put to death the ”Me” and look towards others. It is because of Jesus that I was enabled to deal with areas in Me that needed changing.
The strength of the Holy Spirit within me is continuing to make further changes as they are brought to my attention. As with most Christians this is an ongoing process. Not finished yet.
However it was not till I went back to live in my hometown of Helensville and started working in the community that further changes too place. In Helensville I became chairperson of the local Residents and Ratepayers Association, convener of the Bank Committee that successfully got the ASB Bank to come to Helensville after two major Banks left, helped organize an organic rubbish collection – 1st and only in Rodney DC, was in charge of planting on the Kaipara Riverbank and setup a Community Trust to create the Helensville Resource Recovery Centre. This saw great changes in my life as I stepped out of my comfort zone to help a whole community.
Finally looking after my sick wife, Lynette, brought about further good changes.
I now have forgiveness and peace with God, but I am not sure I have forgiveness and peace from those in my past I have hurt or disappointed.
If you are one of those, please forgive me.
